At Camp Greenknoll we focus on providing a safe, fun, educational, quality experience for every child. We challenge children to be physically fit, learn respect and caring for others, as well as the value of honesty and the importance of responsibility. We give our children the tools to build greater self-esteem and gain a greater appreciation for others.

COUNSELOR-IN-TRAINING PROGRAM
Looking for something for your 14-15 year old? This program is designed for older campers to explore & learn how to become a YMCA Camp Counselor. If you are interested call (203) 775-4444 ext.103 to set up an interview and see if your child is ready for the program.

NEW for 2012!
Expansion of Enrichment Program

This year we will be expanding our Enrichment Program to address the learning loss that occurs with most children over the summer months.  Our active-based program is designed to keep children on track, reinforcing the skills learned during the previous year, preparing them for the new school year, and providing a meaningful experience that helps kids realize their potential and keep them active, both physically and mentally.

All campers in preschool through 4th grade will have a Language Arts and Mathematics Enrichment Program incorporated into their weekly schedule.  Children in grades 5-8 will participate in our S.T.E.M projects (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) and One World Project. All campers will participate in Art Appreciation classes as well.

Low Ropes Course Elements
Situations in the outdoors can teach us about ourselves and the world around us, creating metaphors that relate to the challenges we face in every day life. Campers will participate in games and activities that challenge them and offer the opportunities for growth, both individually and as a part of a group, in leadership, teamwork, communication, self confidence, self reliance and respect... all the skills necessary for life.

The YMCA Camp Greenknoll challenges kids to be physically fit, socially compatible and creative in thought. At the camp, campers learn respect, and caring for others, the value of honesty, and the importance of responsibility. We give our children the tools to build greater self-esteem and gain an appreciation of others. The YMCA Camp Greenknoll and United Way have similar missions. We are both leaders in bringing together the resources to build a better, stronger, and more caring community. Video

YMCA Camp Greenknoll also provides children with a safe, nurturing environment,
and parents with the peace of mind that they have chosen the best place for their child(ren). The Day Camp’s goal is to provide affordable and safe quality summer childcare. During the school year parents only need to worry about before and after school care. In the summer they look for eight to twelve hours of childcare a day. We strive to serve all regardless of financial or physical need. Our focus is on providing a safe, fun, educational, quality experience for every camper.
