The Regional Y began
in the late 1800's as a storefront operation in downtown Danbury, later
evolving into the Danbury Regional Young Men's Christian Association by
1963. The name was ultimately changed to the Regional YMCA of Western
Connecticut and Eastern Putnam County, Inc. and we are currently ranked
as the 3rd largest Y in Connecticut, employing approximately 300 people
in our community.
We are a non-profit community service organization and our mission is
dedicated to building strong kids, strong families, and strong
communities through the development of spirit, mind and body.
The Regional YMCA of Western Connecticut serves Northern Fairfield and
Southern Litchfield Counties in Connecticut and Eastern Putnam County,
New York. Periodically there are openings for a variety of positions
including: lifeguards, fitness instructors, child care teachers, camp
counselors and other full-time or part-time positions.
It is the policy of the Regional Y to employ individuals without regard
to a person's race, color, religion, national origin, sex, sexual
orientation, age, disability, veteran status, or other characteristics
protected by law.
The Regional Y is an
organization focused on member service. All staff, no matter the
position, are expected to connect, engage and build relationships with
our members and customers.
