Expeditions
The philosophical underpinnings of including a wilderness expedition in preparation for an intense academic program are simple. In small expedition crews, students quickly learn that in order for each of them and the group to thrive, everyone must work together to realize their potential for greatness. The difficulties they face during the expedition are often foreign to them, such as cooking a meal using a fire they built, or hiking miles to the top of a mountain, but these challenges serve as metaphors students will carry with them for the rest of their lives.

Adventure Day Programs
The Regional YMCA offers challenge course programs aimed at fostering positive attitudes towards teamwork, leadership and growth through active, experiential learning. Classes from local public schools come to The Regional YMCA to experience a progressive series of low ropes and high ropes course activities designed to address issues of self-discovery, trust, team building and problem solving. Field trips are customized for students 4th grade and up. Each one is tailored to fit the needs of the group.
