This program helps you to raise your academic standards, develop a positive sense of self, build character, explore diverse college and career options and learn from role models who may inspire you. Learn job readiness skills and/or prepare for the college application process. Learn resume writing, interview skills, and financial literacy and planning skills. We will be involved in indivdual college mentoring, youth leadership development and community family engagement. This program will help give you the tools you need to achieve what you want in your future! Achievers meet once a week after school. Cost is $25/month
Service Club
Looking for a way to volunteer and give back to your community? ESCAPE's service club plans and participcates in many kinds of projects. If you are artistic or just want to help others, we need you! Projects will include: face painting at events, painting murals or storefront windows around Danbury, helping middle school students with homework, and other jobs as needed. This is a great way to fulfill community services hours for school or other projects.
Youth & Government
Interested in the law and how government works? If you had the power to change laws in Connecticut, what would you do? Write legislative bills, practice debating and public speaking, and participate in a youth-led government process. The program wraps up with a State Legislative Convention in Hartford where and 300 other YMCA Youth & Government students debate their bills. Cost is $25/month
