Whether you are an avid exerciser or a beginner, our trainers can ensure that you are being trained in a safe environment and at a comfortable pace until you are ready to proceed to the next level of fitness without injury. Our training sessions are one of the best ways to begin an overall individual fitness program. A certified trainer will help you develop an enjoyable fitness program that will target your goals. We create a program for you, walk you through each phase and offer suggestions while discussing your personal needs.

Alex Miller


Alex Miller is currently studying Health Promotion and Exercise Science at WCSU and is also a certified Personal Trainer by the National Academy of Sports Medicine. His philosophy is that everyone is an individual, so Alex trains his clients with workouts tailored to meet their individual needs and goals.

Drew has a Bachelor’s of Business & Psychology at High Point University, a Master’s of Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Western CT State University (in progress). Drew believes in a holistic approach to fitness. All aspects are important: strength training, cardiovascular endurance, flexibility, and nutrition. He tries to incorporate new and fresh techniques that hit all different aspects of fitness into his workouts. Drew uses circuit training, HIIT, power lifting, cardio conditioning, and fun team challenges to keep you body constantly adapting. He believes in the power of the mind body connection, so if you believe you can change and grow you will. Also, Drew has been practicing yoga for about five years so he incorporates some power poses and stretching into his routines. He can work with all types of client’s different ages, sizes, and fitness levels and makes appropriate adaptations to meet their goals/needs. Health and fitness is a passion of Drew’s’ and he wants to instill that passion in clients to help them change their bodies and lives! Certifications:

Gina is currently pursuing a BS in Health Promotion with a focus in Community Health and a minor in Holistic Integrative Health at WCSU. She is a NASM certified personal trainer and enjoys helping individuals meet their fitness goals. Additionally Gina works with our youngest members with the Fitness Express Pass.


Lisa has been involved in the Fitness Industry for over 25 years. She has an AFAA certification for Personal Training and also teaches yoga. Lisa often incorporates her passion for yoga in her training sessions. Her motto is “You can’t change your body without changing your mind and you can’t change your mind without changing your body”.

Nate is a 2013 Graduate of Western Connecticut State University with a Bachelor’s of Science in Health Promotion Studies with a concentration in Wellness Management. Nate is certified through the National Academy of Sports Medicine as a Performance Enhancement Specialist. Nate has been a part of the Y community since 2013, working in a variety of different areas, including personal training, Fit in 12, Lose to Win, SCRAM and as the current conditioning coach for the Makos Swim Team. For the past two years Nate has worked with the Western Connecticut State University Women’s Swimming and Diving team as their Strength and Conditioning coach. Nate has also spent the last five summers working with the Brookfield High School Football team for off-season conditioning. Nate has built strong connections with everyone he has worked with during his young career. Nate is pursuing a career in the Physical Therapy field, and started Physical Therapy school in the summer of 2015.


Stacey is an AFFA certified Group Exercise instructor as well as a NASM certified Personal Trainer. Her motto is ” Make it your best day!”. Stacey enjoys sharing her passion for integrated fitness with her clients and focuses on strength, endurance, stability and flexibility. She has a background in yoga and zumba and can incorporate those movements into her training sessions.

Steve Braun has a BBA Business Administration/Finance degree from Western Connecticut State University as well as a MBA Management and Organization from University of New Haven. As a lifetime fitness enthusiast, Steve has always enjoyed assisting others in achieving their own personal health and fitness goals. He firmly believes that where you are today is just a starting point to where you can be in the future. Steve’s goal-based programs monitor your progress with encouragement and regular fitness assessments. No matter what your current level of fitness, Steve can provide you with workouts that are both highly effective and diverse. Certifications:

  • American Council of Exercise (ACE) Sports Performance
