RESET Challenge: Week 1

WEEK 1: TIME TO RESET

“Have you tried turning it off and turning it back on?” The easiest answer to every tech glitch, right? And, after the eye-roll, and the flip of a switch, it sometimes strangely works!

But what happens when you glitch? When your body’s hardware is burdened, slow, and endlessly spinning? When your mind, body, and soul are stuck in strange patterns; patterns that are unhealthy and glitchy?

RESET will help you fix your glitches. It will give you tools to power you ‘off’ and turn you back on to help restore and reset your hardware.

Hit the RESET button on your life; start over, and discover your God-given potential again!

SET YOUR GOALS, STAY ON TRACK

Write your goals on the tracking sheet (below) and place it somewhere as a reminder (bathroom mirror). Find an accountability buddy to provide motivation. Activities

This week we will begin our journey of finding 150 minutes a week to be active and RESET. 

This week is all about RESETTING, turning over a new leaf, and setting new goals for new year. Don’t we all need a fresh page after 2020? We’re here to help you get started. We’ve come up with some suggestions for activities, challenges and resources to set you up to start strong.  

  • Brisk walk or jog outside
  • Walk the Still River Greenway in Brookfield  (family friendly)
  • Snow shoe or nature hike (Happy Landings Brookfield, Tarrywile Park, Bear Mountain Reservation, Lillinonah Trail, Orzech Family Preserve, etc.) 
  • Download a Couch to 5K app 
  • Strive for 10,000 steps a day  
  • Yard work
  • 15 minute walk to a playground and back
  • Family Fitness video 
  • Family Fun, 30 minutes of playing outside together
  • Family snowball fight  
  • Build a snowman (share your pictures in the Facebook Group) 
  •  Go on a Family Hike
  • Family step challenge 
  • Designate dinner time a “no phone zone”  
  • Play a game tag or hide and seek
  • Group Exercise Class
  • Cycle – 30 minutes
  • Wellness Center: weight room, cardio room – 30 minute rotation
  • Functional Fitness Room – 30 minute rotation
  • Indoor Track (17 times around = one mile)  
  • Swim laps indoor and outdoor (reservations required)  
  • Family Swim (reservations required)  
  • Create goals for 2021. Use this worksheet to get you started: Goals Worksheet
  • Create a gratitude journal and make an entry every day  
  • Pick an area of your house to de-clutter (closet, pantry, junk drawer)  
  • 28 days to a healthier new you 28 Day Article 
  • Challenge a friend to Fitness BINGO…who can get BINGO first? How many ways can you get BINGO in one week? FITNESS BINGO
